One of the greatest joys during my time as Mayor has been welcoming local schoolchildren for a tour of the Council Chamber and Mayor’s Parlour. Each visit has been a reminder of just how bright and engaged our young people are.
This morning I hosted my final school visit in this role with the wonderful Hodge Clough Primary School. Just like every school group before them, they asked brilliant questions, showed genuine interest and gave me real hope for the future.
These are the voices of tomorrow and after meeting so many of them over the past two years I leave this role confident that our future is in very good hands
