Honorary Freeman of the Borough of Oldham

Oldham is more than the place I serve. It is the community that shaped me, as a GP, a councillor, a Mayor and as a person. Every clinic, every community meeting, every difficult decision and every shared success has been grounded in the people of this borough.

This honour does not belong to me alone. It belongs to the residents who trusted me, the colleagues and partners who worked alongside me and the communities who inspired me to keep going, especially during the most challenging times.
