Five years on from the outbreak of the pandemic, it sometimes feels like that period of time is a distant memory.
However, a new book by Oldham Cllr, Dr Zahid Chauhan OBE, who has served as the 2024/25 mayor, titled Covid: The Trenches, challenges us to remember those times and, more importantly, learn from them.
Dr Chauhan said: “As time passes by, generations to come will be looking back and thinking: Did that really happen?
“The idea is that they will live through that journey and hopefully that will prevent and help do things better in the future, deal with the underlying issues and causes, which actually made things worse.”
