Royal Oldham Hospital Parking Time for a Change?

I really think it’s time Royal Oldham Hospital had a multi-storey car park and offered free (or at least affordable) parking for people attending A&E and certain other groups.

 

Every week you hear the same stories patients struggling to find a space, families running late for urgent appointments, and staff finishing long shifts only to face parking fines. It’s stressful, unfair, and unnecessary.

 

A multi-storey car park would:

 

Create more spaces without using up extra land

Make it easier for A&E patients and visitors to park quickly

Support hardworking NHS staff, especially on night shifts

Help people with mobility issues or frequent appointments

Reduce parking chaos and enforcement problems

 

Of course, it costs money but the benefits to patients, staff, and the community would be huge. Parking should never add to the stress of a hospital visit.
